Greece visit – wrap up.

Our visit to Greece had many nuances with our time in Athens at the beginning and end, our time in Kalamata by the sea, and our time on the sea visiting Greek islands.  We loved everything about the country and the people. We wanted to share a few more shots of things we missed in our previous blogs and also say farewell to April who is back in Canada now.

Guards at the Parliament building in downtown Athens.
The guard’s uniforms are quite unique!
Beautiful small old church in Plaka district in Athens.
Beautiful scenery and outdoor dining everywhere.
The dingy was the way to shore.
Becoming experts at getting into the dingy.
Cats are special in Greece. The people leave food out for homeless cats and there are cats everywhere. We enjoyed the ones under our seats while dining as well.
Cats waiting for treats while fish are being cleaned at the marina.
Charming sites everywhere.
Climbing stairs required to eat here.
Gorgeous colours for outdoor dining.
Charming restaurants.
Laurie and I enjoying a break.
Aperol spritz – enjoyed by Europeans and by us most days!
Ken enjoying the top deck on the boat.
Gorgeous scenery.
The Eye – very popular everywhere in Greece. Tami explained that most Greeks have it by their doors to keep bad energy that visitors may have from entering the house. It is also very popular to wear the eye in jewellery to protect yourself.
Our farewell dinner at Diogenes in Athens.
Our waiter Kostos was enamoured with April!
Enjoying the simple life.
Life is good.
Farewell to sweet April after 6 weeks of travelling together. We will see you in Canada in August.
