We flew from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on January 6th. Ken was able to walk onto the plane and on arrival there were many steep ramps and hallways with no airline employees to help had he still been in a wheelchair.
We stayed right in the heart of downtown Kuala Lumpur in the Golden Triangle area. It was safe and relatively quiet with incredible skyscrapers all around.

Malaysia is a multicultural country with ethnic influences from India and China as well as the Malays. The main religions are Islam, Buddhism, Christianity and Hinduism. It is common to see Muslim people everywhere and we had to learn more about what Halal food means. Malaysia is well known around the world for it’s amazing ethnic foods and diversity in choice.
The toilets are also interesting as in a typical bathroom there may be Chinese style squatting toilets and western toilets. There is not always toilet paper but rather the bidet rinsing hose is used.
We did a tour with local driver Sam, whose family comes from India originally.

Next we visited a temple in the countryside. It was very old and featured a sumo wrestler looking priest and various unusual instruments playing inside.

Our next stop was at the Kuala Selangor Nature park. We were instantly swarmed by monkeys. There were sliver leaf and macaque species of monkeys. Our driver Sam purchased the peanuts and put them in Ken’s hand and that was it – instant attention!

We were staying right next to another famous tower in downtown Kuala Lumpur called Menara tower. So we decided to end our time there with a visit to the top and high tea at their rotating restaurant there.

After a week in Kuala Lumpur we flew to Penang – only a short one hour flight. We have enjoyed our 19 days here very much and will update about our time in Penang, Malaysia in our next blog!
Loved this blog as well. Amazing pics yet again. So interesting. Surprised how posh everything looks there. Glad Ken was better for all the steps and walking. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Great pictures, the adventure continues.
Wow these pictures are incredible, great job Robbie. Have fun and stay safe

Cheers from Dave and Marg!
Nice pictures..continue to have a great time…stay healthy
Wowser! Truly amazing! Your suitcases must be getting bigger with all the beautiful outfits you both wear❤️ one could get a little squeamish with that many monkeys surrounding you lol. Way to rock it Ken! It also amazes me how intricate the detail on the temples and buildings in general, being built so long ago, wth happened here, that our buildings just get torn down and more built. The view from the top in rotating restaurant clearly shows how densely populated the city is. Quite beautiful with all the decor as well. Fascinating all of it, so enjoying all the posts❤️ Keep healthy u guys, you are not done yet! Looking forward to the next chapter
Such beautiful pictures!! It is so interesting hearing about all your travels! ❤️
